A passionate advocate for strengthening communities, Steven has built his company around the belief that safe, healthy, and efficient homes change lives. Through partnerships with local utilities and nonprofit organizations, he has helped deliver energy-efficiency improvements to thousands of families across Michigan, including many limited-income households , reducing energy burdens while improving comfort, health, and safety.

Steven’s commitment to philanthropy is central to his leadership. He is an active supporter and partner of Child & Family Charities, contributing time, resources, and advocacy to programs that empower vulnerable children and families. He recently began partnering with Habitat for Humanity Capital Region, helping build and improve homes for families pursuing stability through homeownership. Steven also proudly supports the VFW National Home for Children, assisting military and veteran families by helping ensure their homes are safe, efficient, and sustainable for future generations.

Known for his collaborative leadership style and dedication to mentorship, Steven invests heavily in workforce development, community partnerships, and youth opportunities. His work demonstrates how business leadership, service, and community engagement can come together to create lasting impact.

Steven lives and works in Mid-Michigan, where he continues to champion initiatives that improve quality of life, strengthen neighborhoods, and inspire the next generation of leaders.

Mike is a Certified Inspector, Building Science and Healthy Home Professional, and Client Advocate, committed to enhancing the health, safety, energy efficiency, and comfort of families throughout Michigan. With over 7 years of experience helping families improve energy efficiency, Mike is passionate about making homes safer and more sustainable. A proud Mid-Michigan native, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys exploring the natural beauty of Michigan. He’s also a devoted dog lover who enjoys spending time with his furry companion.

Meet Michael Castillo, our dedicated Installation Technician residing in Lansing, MI. Michael brings a strong work ethic and motivation to every project he undertakes. When he’s not ensuring top-notch installations, you can find Michael skateboarding through the city streets, immersed in gaming adventures, or enjoying the great outdoors camping with his large circle of family and friends. Michael’s commitment to excellence and his vibrant personality makes him a valuable asset to our team.

Known for being outgoing, hardworking, and a bit of a risk-taker in the best way, J is a true do-er who believes in getting the job done right, quickly, and efficiently. He takes pride in his work and enjoys tackling challenges head-on.

J is a dedicated dog lover and proud owner of a one-year-old Belgian Malinois. Family is incredibly important to him, especially his role as a devoted uncle, and he’s always willing to help friends and teammates however he can. His reliability, drive, and positive attitude make him a valued part of the team.

Hardworking is an understatement for Oliver, he clocks out at YHSE and then right back in as an LCC student every day. His work ethic and drive make him a team favorite, but it’s his kindness and attention to detail that makes our customers rave about him!

Oliver is both our youngest team member and the youngest of four. He was born and raised in Eaton Rapids, where he continues his newest adventure: adulthood! Don’t let his small-town origins fool you, his expertise is global scale.

A Lansing native, Jessie Chapman-King brings a unique blend of professionalism and warmth to our team. As a dedicated mother of five, she knows how to juggle responsibilities with grace—skills that translate seamlessly into creating top-notch client experiences and managing team members and projects.

When she’s not leading the charge at YHSE, Jessie dives into the colorful world of comics, a good book or, ideally, lounging by the pool soaking up the sun. Her vibrant personality and commitment to exceptional service make her an invaluable part of our team and a true champion of client satisfaction!

Today, Sarah continues her passion for athletics by coaching Bath High School’s varsity girls’ soccer team and working with local club soccer programs. Her leadership on and off the field reflects her commitment to mentorship, teamwork, and helping others reach their full potential.
At YHSE, Sarah has been instrumental in aligning the company’s financial goals with measurable growth and real outcomes, helping ensure the organization remains strong, strategic, and well-positioned for the future.

Outside the office, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family up north on the lake. Known for her positive attitude and ever-evolving collection of fresh tattoos, she brings energy, authenticity, and a grounded perspective to both her professional and personal life.

With over 25 years of customer service experience, Jessica Yinger brings a wealth of knowledge and
dedication to our team. A proud graduate of Central Michigan University, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2001.

Jessica resides in Lansing with her husband and two sons. When she’s not outdoors enjoying camping trips, she can often be found cheering on her sons’ robotics team and band performances. A passionate reader, she loves diving into a good book whenever she gets the chance.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Malena Kind is a dedicated and compassionate team member with a passion for animals and customer service. Currently attending Michigan State University, she is majoring in Animal Science as she works toward her goal of transferring to veterinary school to pursue her dream of caring for animals professionally.

With a busy schedule balancing multiple part-time jobs, Malena is always on the go, but she never lets that stop her from providing excellent service with kindness and a smile. An avid animal lover, she brings warmth and enthusiasm to everything she does!
